George Moni, our Technical Director for Boys hails from Albania where he graduated from the University of Tirana with a degree in Physical Education/Health. He played pro soccer for three different clubs, serving as captain for two of them. He also played on the Albanian National team as a U17, U19 and U21 player. George began his professional coaching career in 1994 as a Head Coach in the Albanian Super Liga.
George has been in Michigan since 1996. Before joining the Grand Rapids Crew Juniors, George coached several premier youth soccer clubs such as WAZA FC in Livonia, United FC in Birmingham, and the Stingers in Western Michigan.
George holds the USSF "A" License and the NSCAA Premier Diploma.
On the college level, George has been the assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s teams at Davenport. As his impressive resume indicates, George has the ability to teach the game at the highest of levels, and we are extremely fortunate to have him as part of our club.
George is currently coaching the U-12 boys Gold’, U-14 MRL girls’ and U-13 Premier boys’ teams. His current Crew teams have outstanding records and have some of the best Michigan ODP players among them. These teams have received much recognition in and out of Michigan and are ranked among the top teams in the state, the region and the nation.
George is also one of the Academy Directors who carefully guide and oversee the consistent development of all Crew players. He has clearly become an integral part of GR Crew Jrs.
