U16 Girls Gold attend KISS College Showcase
July 2, 2010

The U16 girls Gold played up to the highest U17 division at last weekends KISS Tournaments in Kalamazoo.  Despite losing all 3 games, the team played 3 close hard fought games against a East Iowa United, MRL Canton team and Vaughn Soccer from Canada. The players playing at the u17 age group had the chance to showcase their talents in front of college coaches from all over the midwest.
The team will be competing at the Metro FC College Showcase, CASL and Orange Classic showcase’s later in the year.

Coach Brown is looking forward to another year in MRL with the u16 girls.  Last season they went 3-3-1 in the MRL and are looking to improve on their State Cup outcome.  Currently all of the players have made the Varsity team at their prospective High Schools.  This coming fall the team will travel to several College Showcase tournaments, including KISS, CASL in North Carolina, Metro FC and the Orange Classic in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Girls U15 MRL Attend CASL College Showcase

The Girls U15 MRL team attended CASL College Showcase this weekend in Raleigh, NC. They played excellent games against teams from NJ, PA, and NC, and with only 2 subs the team played really well in 3 hard fought games.

They won the 1st game against Greensboro NC 3-2, lost the next against one of the eventual finalists (Hershey Attack from PA), and then lost the last to a very good team from NJ. All games were decided by only 1 goal.  It was overall a great tournament with excellent opposition and  a great experience for the players.

The U15 and U16 Girls Gold MRL teams are keeping busy in the winter season by attending the TNT College Showcase in Lansing this past weekend Feb. 13-14.

The U16s had a good weekend with competition against TNT U17s (White and Red teams), and a MI Rush U17 team. With 2 losses and 1 win it was not the results the team was looking for, but they had 3 great games in front of over 15 Michigan college coaches for the players to showcase their talents.

The U15s had a great weekend with 2 wins and a tie against all U17 opposition (TNT, MI Rush, and Livonia Meteors). They were all great games and the players really played well against very good premier teams two year older.

Overall, it was a great experiance at a very well run showcase by TNT Soccer Club.
