The team finished in second place in the U-16 Blue division-losing to the Gators in their final game...unfortunely we were down 4 players. The team has two college showcases tournaments this month. They will be in St Louis for the Metro United tournament Oct 31-Nov 1st. The team has been placed in the top bracket and will have some tough competition...but will come out playing strong! Later in the month they will travel to North Carolina and play in one of the top college showcases-the CASL Tournament.

This was a good tournament for the U16 girls MRL team,  with over 200 college coaches from all over the country watching our games. They started with a game against a very strong Kirkwood team from Delaware, where they lost 5-2, but a great game from both teams.

Their 2nd game was a hard fought tie 2-2 against another good team from PA. The last game was a loss to a very good Dallas Texan team 2-0, but throughout the game the team played very well.

The U15 and U16 Girls Gold MRL teams are keeping busy in the winter season by attending the TNT College Showcase in Lansing this past weekend Feb. 13-14.

The U16s had a good weekend with competition against TNT U17s (White and Red teams), and a MI Rush U17 team. With 2 losses and 1 win it was not the results the team was looking for, but they had 3 great games in front of over 15 Michigan college coaches for the players to showcase their talents.

The U15s had a great weekend with 2 wins and a tie against all U17 opposition (TNT, MI Rush, and Livonia Meteors). They were all great games and the players really played well against very good premier teams two year older.

Overall, it was a great experiance at a very well run showcase by TNT Soccer Club.

Congratulations to Sam Vinton who has verbally committed to play soccer for Florida Gulf Coast University in 2011. She was recruited while playing for the Crew Jr. U17 MRL team coached by Marc Frankland, at the Orange Classic Showcase in Fort Lauderdale, FL last December. The FGCU Eagles are part of the NCAA D1 family and finished second in the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2009 with a 6-2-2 record.

Sam currently plays for the GR Crew Juniors Girls U16 MRL team and is a junior in the FHC Varsity Soccer Program. Her GR Crew Juniors coach and trainer for the past 5 years has been Jeff Brown.

Coach Brown adds, "The U16s played at various college showcase tournaments last fall including Metro FC in St Louis, CASL in North Carolina, and Orange Classic in Ft Laurderdale where Sam played up for the u17 MRL team and got spotted by FGCU.  Well done Sam Vinton."
